The fifth season shows the new phase of Derek and Meredith, he has moved into her house, home to Alex and Izzie. George is ready to retake the exam and eventually passes. Cristina enter into a relationship with new head of trauma at the hospital, Owen Hunt. Alex and Izzie are embarking on a relationship, as she begins to have hallucinations with her dead boyfriend, Denny. Finally discovers she has cancer. Derek asks Meredith marriage and both take the decision to cede the altar Alex and Izzie, which seems not much time left in life. Lexie and Sloan have a serious relationship and George took the decision to leave his position at the hospital for a doctor in the military. Callie, Erica after the departure of the hospital, begin a relationship with the Arizona doctor Robbins, which Bailey will teach the importance of pediatrics. In the last chapter, comes to the hospital a man marred which has been hit by a bus while trying to save the life of a stranger.
