Shawn MacArthur (Channing Tatum) arrives in New York with empty hands. It survives by selling counterfeit brand-name objects on the street. His luck changes when professional scammer Harvey Boarden (Terrence Howard) realizes that he is a born fighter. Harvey, acting as representative, Shawn introduces the corrupt without gloves boxing circuit, where the rich opt for interchangeable pawns.
